(ARA) - Moms have one of the most important jobs in America. On a daily basis, they raise our nation's kids, strengthen our neighborhoods and drive our economy. Each and every day, moms go above and beyond the call of duty to contribute their time and talents to better the lives of others. To help celebrate extraordinary moms across the country, ClubMom, the free national membership organization for moms, has launched the “ClubMom Make a Difference” National Awards, a prestigious honor that recognizes the amazing work moms do every day to make a difference. Five moms who have made a difference in remarkable ways will be honored during the first annual “ClubMom Make a Difference” National Awards ceremony in New York City in May 2006. Award recipients will win a free trip to the ceremony, special prizes and awards, and will get a special thank you from Meredith Vieira, co-host of The View, ClubMom co-founder, and host of ceremonies.
“Because moms are the last to take credit, we want to spotlight the great work they do for all of America to see,” says Vieira. “We also recognize that moms who make a difference set an example for their children and our nation to follow.”

Moms who apply may be selected for “Mom of the Week” and/or the annual awards. Each week through early 2006, a new "Mom of the Week" will be featured on the site. Each member who is selected as “Mom of the Week” during 2005 will automatically be considered for the national awards and receive gifts from ClubMom and its corporate partners, some of America's best companies.
With Just One “Click” Moms Can Give Back
Moms nationwide can also move the needle on their favorite philanthropic causes by triggering a contribution through the ClubMom Dollar Drive For Charity. Upon registration to ClubMom, one dollar will be donated to the charity of the mom’s choice of many nationally recognized charities including the March of Dimes, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, YWCA of the USA, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and many more. All moms are encouraged to sign up for the ClubMom Dollar Drive For Charity from May 2, 2005 through March 31, 2006 at www.clubmomdollardrive.com. To make an even greater difference, 1 percent of what members spend with participating merchants in the ClubMom Online Mall will also be donated to the charity of their choice.
