(ARA) - As our troops take on the daily challenges that keep them on their feet all day long in Iraq and Afghanistan, they’re getting a helping hand from the folks back home. Care packages regularly roll in from friends and family, and American companies that want to make sure our troops know their work is appreciated. “We decided to start sending care packages to the troops after receiving several e-mail requests from soldiers who had used our insoles while home on leave, and were desperate to end the foot pain they were enduring while in their military-issued boots 6, 12, sometimes 18 hours a day,” says Aolani Donegan, assistant marketing manager for Implus Footcare LLC.
Since receiving the first call for help, the company has sent hundreds of pairs of Airplus Sport and Work insoles overseas. They are designed to provide all day comfort and cushioning in all types of shoes, particularly boots.
“When a person walks or stands for long spells, the majority of the body weight is absorbed by the heel.
